Comic/Cartoon: The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee
Viewable Date: 2012-03-11 Pub. Date: 2012-03-11
Image Number: 76825
Caption: I see puzzles as great metaphors. For example, human arrogance often tricks us into forming incorrect conclusions about things after seeing only a few pieces of the big picture. Putting these 4 pieces together might lead you to think this is a picture of what? I know! I know! It's a car! You didn't know I was so good, did you? No need for further demonstration. It's not a car. Guess again with these additional pieces in place. Ooo ... Wait! Is it a cabbage? Not even close. Duh! I see it now! An elephant ... African, I believe. Sorry. Ya know, just go ahead and enlighten yourself with these additional 4, 986 pieces. Apparently not everyone can handle the big picture.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-05-29 Pub. Date: 2011-05-29
Image Number: 61192
Caption: Confirmation bias. Huh? It's where a person decides something to be true … … And then they look only for examples that prove they're right, and ignore all the ones that show they may be wrong. Like, for instance, someone who decides a politician is awful will dwell on his failures - no matter how tiny they may be - and ignore or marginalize his accomplishments, no matter how huge they are. What's this have to do with you being a big-ass nerd? You're ignoring my vintage Tupac collection. Don't nobody but a nerd say "vintage."

Caption: Doesn't it bother you to go around with mismatched socks, Earl? Nope. You know, when you dress like that it reflects poorly on me. People see you wearing mismatched socks and they probably assume it's my fault for not doing the laundry. Hmm. Interesting. Maybe that's why it doesn't bother me.
