Cartoonist(s): Berkeley Breathed
Comic/Cartoon: Opus
Viewable Date: 2009-09-17 Pub. Date: 2007-06-03
Image Number: 17452
Caption: Nice memorial to the fallen, Opus. Thanks, Binkley. For some reason, war memorials make me sentimental about the past. And my parents. Parental sentimentality is a real publishing trend these days. What's Obama's memoir called?... "Dreams From My Father." And then there's McCain's: "Faith of My Fathers." Tim Russert's "Wisdom of Our Fathers." James Bradley's "Flags of Our Fathers." George W. Bush's "Paddlings of My Father." What would be the theme of your parental memories? Regurgitation. "Meals of My Mother."

Caption: Comedian George Carlin visits Lemont's dream. Ok, so I'm dead and all the media talked about was my "seven words you can't say on tv" bit. Heh. Good stuff. No! Don't you wonder WHY that's all they talked about? Why they didn't even mention my criticism of them? Why they wanted you to believe Tim Russert's questions were "tough"? Heh. Do the "seven words" thing. They're feeding you (censored)!

Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2007-12-19 Pub. Date: 2007-12-16
Image Number: 20780
Caption: On today's Sunday Morning Political Show, the hot topic is EARMARKS, also known as "pork"… …the practice of allocating tax dollars for specific projects, even if they're unrelated to the overall funding bill. Here to condemn the practice, we have President Bush from last month. Bob, the DemocRAT Congress is spendin' like a teenager with a credit card. This earmarkin' of theirs is irresponsible an' wrong. Here to argue IN FAVOR of earmarks, we have President Bush from earlier that day. Bob, I obviously see nothin' wrong with earmarks. After all...I just stuck in $15 BILLION of 'em, includin' $9 million for my daddy's projects, an' $24 million for Laura's. Bob, me from earlier today is spendin' like a teenager with a credit card. I challenge me to say that to my face.
