Image Number: 9629
Caption: An impossibly long time ago - before our sun had even ignited - a large, blue star burned bright in the distant outer reaches of the universe … Eons later, while the first life crawled from earth's primordial seas, the star's light sped past the colliding black holes near the shoulder of Orion. Ages pass ... and as Jesus broke bread for lunch, its faint glow entered the outer edge of our own galaxy ... Until two millennia later, when it finally falls upon our planet as starlight, starbright, the first star we see tonight ... Still glowing with hope that its 6 billion year journey was not, in the end ... stupidly wasted. I wish, I wish, I wish Europe finds Bush as lovable as we do!

Caption: Lard Burger. Gadzooks!! During my absence gravity has disproportionately attacked the trousers of America's youth! I am weirdly compelled to assist their unfinished transit! … But upwards? … Or downwards? That's the question. Up … I make a pathetic, futile bid for decency... Down ... I admit defeat but savor sweet payback! Up or down?! Retreat or attack?! Everything in life is like this!! Which? Which? Up. I'm just not that mean. On the other hand .... Sometimes the rear ends justify the means!

Caption: Hello, Fillmore. How's the day going? Still on plan "A"? Huh? Plan "A." The plan where everything goes right. You get everything done: you check all the boxes. Unfortunately, for most of us, plan "A" lasts about five minutes. We're all running around executing plan "B." Life is one big plan "B." I don't have a plan "A" or a plan "B." I assess whatever life brings me and I react accordingly. Oh, I see. You live in the moment. Sad. Looks like life has brought me an annoying crab. Should've planed for it.

Caption: Are you sharpening that pencil with your pocket knife, Grampa? Yes, I am, son, and you know, we're all kind of like this pencil. The most important part of us is on the inside. Sometimes we spend too much time erasing and not enough time writing. Or sometimes we do too much writing and forget to sharpen the pencil. And sometimes we spend too much time sharpening and we end up as a useless little stub. That's something to think about, isn't it? Could I be the pocketknife instead?
