Viewable Date: 2011-12-11 Pub. Date: 2011-12-11
Image Number: 73402
Caption: HALT!! Who goes there?!! I'm Edison, and this is my cousin Harley. Who are you? I'm the official sentry of this place, the aisle of misfit toys. This is where toys go when they're not wanted or loved. You're pretty cool-looking. Why are you here? No child wants to play with an action figure that doesn't have a multi-million-dollar Hollywood tie-in. How would you like to be a cruddy doll that was thrown together in a sweatshop by an impoverished Chinese widow? Or a car that may contain lead, arsenic and small parts that choke kids? That's why we're all misfit toys. Misfit toys? Dad, we'll be giving them a good home. Just like in the Rudolph TV special. I suppose this poor plasma TV is a misfit as well. No. YES!

Caption: Do you guys have a hero? I do: the world's smartest guy, Stephen Hawking. He's given so much of himself despite having lost so much. Luann? I'm not sure what a "hero" is. Who's yours, Delta? Oprah Winfrey. She went from miserable poverty to being the first black female billionaire in history. And she's the most philanthropic celebrity in America. Oprah inspires me to excel. That's what a hero is, Luann. Someone who makes you do more than you'd normally do. Oh, my mom, then. She writes the chores list.

Schools, clothes, food, orthodonture, piano lessons are all so much cheaper "offshore" and those pesky U.S. laws and regulations? Forget about 'em! I don't care if you don't want a summer sweatshop job, son. We can always get some new kids in Vietnam! Globalization has its advantages! Outsource your family unit today. Globokids.com.
