Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2012-03-29 Pub. Date: 2012-03-29
Image Number: 77953
Caption: According to Zeno's paradox, you and I would be immortal, Rosencrantz. If life is a journey toward death, then to arrive at that destination we'd first have to travel half a life. Then half our remaining life, and so on; infinitely forever. But you're overlooking one crucial flaw in that theory. What flaw is that. Zeno's dead.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2012-03-28 Pub. Date: 2012-03-28
Image Number: 77952
Caption: Zeno's paradox theorizes that I can never actually reach my destination. If I have to travel one mile, first I have to reach half a mile. Then I have to cover the remaining distance, then half again, and so on. Ever distance, no matter how small, can be divided in half infinitely; so I can never actually get where I'm going. That still doesn't explain why you're always late.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2007-06-05 Pub. Date: 2007-06-03
Image Number: 17480
Caption: What's wrong, Lemont? Nothing, Susan. Well … Ok. I asked Clyde about the $2 he owes me and he started whining about "the man." I call him on his bull. Told 'im he was a whiner, always has been and always will be. Then suddenly I realized … I was whining. That's when it hit me: You can't accuse someone of whining without whining yourself. It's the whine paradox. That's ridiculous. Think Nietzsche put it best ... "If you look long into a whine, the whine looks back at you." "Abyss," not "whine." Stop whining. D'oh!

Caption: So you're going back to 2004 to warn me not to hook up with the crazy vegetarian chick? That's right. Cool, cool. Just one thing: if you'd succeeded, wouldn't I have never met her in the first place and there'd be no need for you to go back and warn me about her? Time-travel paradoxes give me a headache.

Image Number: 6149
Caption: IPMM. The Institute of Postmillenium Madness announces the discovery of a new mental condition… Keiko/Elian Complex. The mass preoccupation with the well being of Keiko the whale while we ravage the ocean with rampant overfishing is a prime example. Free Willy. It also manifests as an obsession with the tragic plight of one little Cuban boy while ignoring the suffering of millions of other child refugees. Save Elian. Next week: the condition in which people show their love for wilderness by driving five ton gas guzzling trucks. It's called..."schizoesyouveephrenia."
