Caption: 1982. What do you think life'll be like in, say … 2012? Well if you look at the arc of mankind's progress, it'll be very different. We went from the Wright Brothers to the moon in just 66 years! At this rate, we'll have colonized Alpha Centauri and met the Klingons by 2012. Plus, we'll all be rich. Momma says every generation does better than its parents. I'll probably be the first one in my family to ever own a home. Not on Mars, though, that'd just be ghetto. Wow, I can't wait till 2012!

He labored tirelessly for the good of mankind. Unfortunately, his ideas were seen by some as too radical or dangerous. Soon Edison found himself ensnared in a hopeless tangle of bureaucratic red tape. The fate of the world now hung in a delicate balance - its future uncertain. Tap. Tap. Tap. Very funny! Your father and I just didn't want you blowing up our basement. Fearing the wrath of the oppressive ruling party, he considered seeking asylum with - Your aunt Jean doesn't want you blowing up her basement either.

Caption: The Galapagos woodpecker uses sticks to help it obtain food. Would you call that "unnatural"? Of course not! The woodpecker is an animal. It's "natural," so anything it does is also natural. Man is also an animal. Mankind is "natural" too. So everything we do, from using sticks, to creating so-called "artificial" sugar, is also natural. You are so not giving up diet cola. Would you ask a woodpecker to give up his stick?
